AEW is broadcasting this weekend from Allentown, Pennsylvania. The show will feature build toward the Forbidden Door PPV taking place late this month.

That will include AEW International Champion Will Ospreay vs. Brian Cage in what will presumably be the night’s main event match-up, or at least is being given top billing on the promotional materials.

Plus, an AEW Continental Championship Eliminator Match featuring Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada vs. Ultimo Guerrero, Chris Jericho & Big Bill vs. Private Party, Samoa Joe & HOOK & Katsuyori Shibata vs. Premier Athletes, Toni Storm & Mariah May vs. Leyla Hirsch & Lady Frost, and so much more!

Come right back here at 8 pm ET when the Collision live blog kicks off once the show starts on TNT. It will be below this line here.

AEW COLLISION RESULTS FOR JUNE 22

You know what Saturday nights are alright for by this point.

I’d like to note the last commercial before this show went on the air was John Cena promoting Shark Week on Discovery. I do not know why this is worth noting. It’s really not.

No promos to open things up, just getting right into the matches.

Samoa Joe & HOOK & Shibata vs. Premier Athletes: Nigel McGuiness called Joe and HOOK a pair of gangsters from a Tarantino movie. I can kind of see that. There was a fun spot early on where Tony Nese was hitting some chops to Shibata and after he failed to sell two, he straight up just poked him in the throat. Right after, Shibata did the spot where Nese came off the ropes and he just casually walked away like Joe does. Joe responded by pointing to him and smiling. Fun stuff. Everyone got some time in there, and ultimately Nese submitted to the armbar from Shibata. Joe & HOOK & Shibata def. Premier Athletes via submission

Tony Schiavone started talking title shot for them after this win.

So they went back to the Bang Bang Gang where Juice Robinson was saying AEW apparently isn’t going to recognize that he was anointed as one quarter of the trios champions. The Gunns are upset House of Black are getting a title shot too. Juice says it’s all good though cause Jay White is off training his ass off and he’ll be coming back with 10 abs. PAC better hope he doesn’t see him in the Owen Hart Tournament.

Chris Jericho & Big Bill vs. Private Party: Jericho asked Marc Quen if he was ready to wrestle under the learning tree, Quen said yes, and Jericho instantly tagged out to Bill. Amazing. Bill, by the way, had a quote from Schiavone on the ass of his trunks, which Tony responded to by saying it will be the first and last time his name is on the ass of a man’s shorts. Sure. They had Kassidy in the hot tag spot and he ran wild as much as a man can against his opponents here. Plenty of interference from Bryan Keith throughout the match. Walls of Jericho led to a rope break. Every time Bill got in, you could hear Keith telling him “there you go, Redwood.” They worked it so Private Party kept fighting through pinfall attempts, showing resilience. Then they even hit Jericho with a Codebreaker but that only got two. The fans booed this quite a bit, with Kassidy arguing the ref over the count. In the end, Keith used brass knuckles to give Jericho the chance to pin Kassidy. Jericho & Bill def. Private Party via pinfall

After the match, the heels started beating on Private Party and Joe, HOOK, and Shibata all hit the ring to run them off. Keith ended up left in the ring alone to get his arm stomped out by Shibata.

Joe grabbed a mic and said every idea that comes to Jericho’s tree absolutely sucks. In fact, it seems they come from very different schools of thought. Joe thinks the best ideas survive the crucible of combat. So he proposes a six-man between his crew and Jericho’s at Forbidden Door.

Kazuchika Okada vs. Ultimo Guerrero: A bit of a slow moving match to start. Guerrero working some submissions. Okada working him over a bit, only for Guerrero to continuously regain control. Nasty baseball slide to send Okada to the outside. It genuinely looked like they were moving in slo mo for large portions of this. Guerrero took too long adjusting his mask at one point, and that gave Okada an opening. He tried to take the mask off but got powerbombed for a two count for his efforts. They had the ring mic’d too well and the fans not enough and you could easily hear Guerrero breathing heavy at points. He ended up getting Guerrero’s mask off, and then hit the Rainmaker to knock it off again for the pinfall. Okada def. Guerrero via pinfall

They were sure to remind us how disrespectful it is to take that man’s mask off. Okada appeared to taunt a child on the way out.

Lexi Nair talking to Top Flight and she congratulates Dante Martin for qualifying for the ladder match. He says the last time he was in a ladder match he broke his leg. It took a lot of hard work for him to be back where he is today. He had to relearn how to do everything.

Now, he’s going back into that environment and everyone is saying it’s crazy but he realizes it’s going to take a little bit of crazy for him to become the new TNT champion.

Before Top Flight can walk off, Lio Rush pulls up to say he wants to talk to them about last week. They congratulate him on winning on Rampage.

He asks Darius if they’re cool. He tells Dante he had his back and he’s a man of his word and that shows it. But he’s in the ladder match too and he wants the TNT championship for himself. They have a staredown and agree they’ll see each other in the match to see who the better man is.

Out come Iron Savages and Jacked Jameson, the latter of which is talking about Christian Cage is acting like a low T loser since he came to AEW. He had Killswitch in the back trying to take them out. He made some bad jokes about the entire group and then said they’d be taking them to Titty City while pulling out one of the Savage’s tit*.

Yeah.

The Patriarchy vs. Iron Savages & Jacked Jameson: Cage went to commentary to hang out and talk about the match instead of actually work it. He left Killswitch and Wayne to take care of business. Cage kept pushing that his path back to the world title is the trios championship. Finally, after enough time, Cage left the booth and went to the ring to clean things up. He hit the Killswitch and that was it. The Patriarchy def. Iron Savages & Jacked Jameson via pinfall

Incredible stuff from Cage here.

Toni Storm & Mariah May vs. Leyla Hirsch & Lady Frost: Storm started the match by kissing May on the cheek and then some chain wrestling. Storm got out ahead and brought May in to clean up. She did so, leading to Hirsch tagging Frost in for the recovery. May got the better of her, as well. They made sure to set it up so they could have a photo opportunity as they were going to commercial break. Good character work. Late in the match, Frost hit the moonsault but Storm ran over to put her body on top of May so she could take the brunt of it. Hirsch tried to get the pin but Storm saved the day again. They quickly regained control and Storm Zero led to May scoring the pin while Toni posed with her. Storm & May def. Hirsch & Frost via pinfall

Truly a work of art.

Serena Deeb backstage to talk about how she was unbreakable heading into Double or Nothing. But since then she’s had three of the toughest losses of her career. She knows how things go, sometimes you’re on the up and sometimes you’re on the down. But when it’s the latter, you have to lift yourself back up.

But if her career has shown anything it’s perseverance. So she’ll be in Buffalo for Collision next week and she’s begging anyone to step in the ring with her. She’s on the up, she says, and she’s going to remind everyone just who she is — the professor of professional wrestling.

House of Black vs. LSG & MSG: When they announced LSG and MSG, Nigel joked that he’ll take reasons not to eat Chinese for $1000. Either way, it was clear what these two were here for. Black took some time getting his stuff in, then Brody tagged in to get his in. It wasn’t long before the end. House of Black def. LSG & MSG via pinfall

When the two made their way back up the ramp, they were greeted by Ian Riccaboni who asked them how they feel after what happened to Buddy Matthews last week. Black responded by saying “what a human question.” King then said “revenge is never a straight line. We feel nothing.”

Then they just walked off.

Hechicero vs. Matt Menard: Menard tried to get out of the gates fast but Hechicero quickly took control and remained there for much of the match. It was getting so quiet in the arena, Nigel was having to say things like “he’s stunned the Allentown faithful.” Daddy Magic was screaming very loudly while unleashing a barrage of offense. Hechicero always found an opening, though, and scored the submission with a modified Rings of Saturn. Hechicero def. Menard via submission

Menard got out of the ring quickly selling an arm injury. They did well to put MJF’s Forbidden Door opponent over here.

They aired a pre-tape with Jeff Jarrett where he talked about entering the Owen Hart Tournament. He was very emotional talking about Owen’s death, their relationship, and the promises he made to Owen’s children.

He said the Owen means everything to him. He also got emotional quoting a Toby Keith song, because he, too, passed away. He ain’t as good as he once was but he’s as good once as he ever was.

He promises he’s absolutely going to win the tournament.

Will Ospreay vs. Brian Cage: Cage worked his power game, throwing Ospreay around a bit. Ospreay took some big bumps too, right on his neck a time or two. Fans got behind Ospreay with some chants for him. He rewarded them with spots like a hurricanrana reversal out of a powerbomb attempt. He did some flying around to get his offense in on Cage. There was a great spot where Cage countered a cutter with a dropkick and Schiavone said “he got double teamed by both feet to the face.” Truly a wordsmith. Cage was breaking out big powerbombs but every time Ospreay was fighting back from it. Cage got athletic a bit too, with kicks in the corner. Ospreay slipped out and hit a superkick of his own. He kept trying for the hurricanrana from up top but couldn’t get it. Some close counts off that. Huge poisonrana gave Ospreay enough room to hit the cutter but that only got two. Then the setup for the Hidden Blade and he got all of that to finish it off. Ospreay def. Cage via pinfall to retain International championship

That’s it.

End.
