2020 GMC Acadia review: Our expert's take
What Is the 2020 GMC Acadia?
The GMC Acadia is a mid-size SUV that can seat up to seven. It runs on a standard 193-horsepower, 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that pairs with a nine-speed automatic transmission. A 310-hp, 3.6-liter V-6 is also available, along with a new 230-hp, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder. Front- and all-wheel-drive versions are offered, and competitors include the Ford Edge, Honda Pilot and Nissan Murano.
What’s New on the 2020 GMC Acadia?
A new look for the front end includes standard LED lighting and a restyled grille and bumper. A new AT4 trim gets an off-road-oriented design with a black-chrome grille and 17-inch wheels with all-terrain tires. An available turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine joins the lineup, and all the Acadia’s available engines now work with a new nine-speed automatic transmission.
Other changes include a new center console with more storage, an electronic shifter, and an updated multimedia system with improved voice recognition, a higher-resolution 8-inch touchscreen and a simpler interface.
What Features in the 2020 GMC Acadia Are Most Important?
USB ports in all three rows of seats will help your family keep all their gadgets charged while on the go. The touchscreen multimedia system includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity, and GM’s Teen Driver monitoring system is standard.
2020 GMC Acadia Vs. 2020 Honda Pilot: How Do They Compare?
Both the Acadia and Pilot are spacious and comfortable SUVs with plenty of safety and convenience features. Both offer a third row, but the cushions in both those rows are low and space is limited. The Acadia has a USB port in the rear, something the Pilot does not. The Acadia’s multimedia system is easier to use than the Pilot’s, but the Honda has more interior storage space.
Should I Buy the 2020 GMC Acadia?
If you’ve got a big family with a lot of devices to keep charged on long trips and you’re looking for an SUV to deliver a quiet, comfortable driving experience, the Acadia could be a good choice for you. But if your family has a lot of stuff to lug around, the Acadia’s limited cargo space behind the third row could be an issue.

my 2020 Acadia at4 was driving down the interstate 70mph at 5pm to work got a bunch of fault signals on the dash windshield wipers turn on by themselves shooting water.and completely stopped in the middle of interstate with cars doing 70mph all around mebefore i could get involved in a fatal car accident i called 911 and they called a truck to drag me to the side of interstate so i had it towed to the gmc dealer missed work of course had to rent car. after 2 days they tell me there was a clog in the ac evacuation hose, so water started being.directed into the main body control module totally destroying it and with parts and labor it would be 1760.00 so with missed work rental car tow truck over 2400 total don't know what kind of designer would put the main body control module anywhere nearwere it could get wet if something happened purchased this SUV new wish i would have gone with Nissanas recommended by many people but got this one for looks i have never had to put this much money on a 3yr old car had a Hyundai before and after 6 yrs. only needed brakes and new battery.
